Our Trip to Colorado
We had so much fun in Colorado visiting with Melissa, Andy, Aaron, Ethan and Kara. It was a pretty crazy drive, but luckily our boys are pretty good little travelers...if only I was quite as adept to long car rides! Alas, it is my curse in life. (Sigh!!!)
Riley was in heaven playing trains with his cousins, who were very nice to play with him the entire time we were there. It really made Todd and I miss not being closer to family! How fun to get to play with your cousins...especially when they are so nice!!
I also think that it is safe to say that Tanner is an animal lover. He absolutely went berserk over Mitzi the cat. She was a good cat and let him pull copious amounts of her hair. He also LOVED Daisy the dog. If you look closely, you can see him smiling through the glass window at her. It was pretty cute. However, I hate to break it to ya Tans, but we're not getting a dog or a cat any time in the near...or distant...future. I may settle for a frog or something, yet even that remains to be seen! :)

New Car
We just got back from Denver where we visited with Melissa, Andy and the kids AND picked up our new car. We are so excited to have a minivan that it actually kind of scares us...I mean come on, a minivan?!?! The trip was fairly uneventful, unless you count last night when I got sick from trying to get Riley's DVD to work and threw up for almost an hour, causing us to have to stop at a hotel for the night because I just couldn't go on, in turn making Todd miss half a day of work with no cell phone to call his boss with...but other than that, no problem. :)
Todd is currently on his way to Vegas, but when he gets back, I have some darling pictures to download off our camera and post of Riley playing with Ethan and Aaron. It was really just too fun to have cousins to play with who like trains almost as much as you do!

The Pen Caper
I was busy cleaning up today when I realized that I hadn't heard Riley for a while...never a good sign as any mom can tell you. So, I went to go seek out my all to quiet child and this is what I found!!!

Oops!
Last week was not a good week for us...electronically speaking. First off, I put Todd's brand new MP3 player that his friends at Pride gave him as a going away gift through the wash...Oops! Then I went to Chuck-E-Cheese with the boys and left the camera there...double Oops!! Of course no one turned the camera in...jerks. :) So we are out a brand new digital camera as well as the brand new MP3 player.

It's Park Time
It was just SUCH a beautiful night that we HAD to go to the park and play a little bit of "soccer" and play on the playground.
For those of you who don't know me very well, you might think that I am pretty athletic from looking at this picture. However, for those of you who DO know me, you are wondering if my fancy footwork landed me flat on my rear end right after this picture was taken!!
You know, this picture just goes to show that you can't trust pictures. You would think that we strapped Riley into this swing and wouldn't let him out. When in fact, we were just waiting for him to get bored with doing "underdogs" so we could go kick a ball around.
Tanner loves anything that gets him out of his stroller. One of these days he is going to start crawling, and then my life as I know it will be O-V-E-R! He will be a nightmare to keep up with.
(If you want to see a picture a little bit bigger, then just click on it. Then when you are done looking at it, click your back button to get back to the blog)

Weekend Project
Here is our weekend project. (Mom and Dad do you recognize this night stand?) I think my parents bought these nightstands back in the 80's, and somehow I inherited them. Anyway, they were pretty beat up, so we gave them a little overhaul. Not too bad for a Saturday. Now we can put our books IN something rather than on the floor.

So Sad
Last night Todd and I watched the movie "Bridge to Teribithia". All in all it wasn't a stellar movie or anything, but the end was pretty heart-wrenching. I was trying so hard to control my sobbing that I ended up with a sore jaw and a huge headache. (All for nothing since I ended up crying a river). I looked over to see if Todd was showing any emotion at all...since he is normally a rock when it comes to tears...and he had tears in his eyes. Now, for those of you who don't know, this is huge!! The only time I have seen him get even remotely close to shedding a tear was in the OR after Riley was born (no tears fell mind you, he was just close). He kept telling me that the tears were from yawning or they were from laughing, but he didn't fool me. :)

Labor Day
We had a busy day yesterday. We wanted to get as much done as possible on the house while Todd had the day off. We...we meaning Todd...put up two light fixtures, 4 sets of window coverings, and painted the hallway (I helped with that part). It feels great to get stuff done. We need Labor Day to come around EVERY weekend!! :)
Then after a nice nap, we went out to Taco Bell for dinner...yum?!?!...and then we were off to the Legends. The Legends is this really fun outdoor outlet mall chock full of fountains, lights, flowers, dinosaurs, cowboys, food, and all manner of yummy treats.
Riley and Tanner love to play in the fountains at the Legends. Riley calls them the "mountains" and then laughs and laughs because he knows it is really called Fountains.

Zoo Fun
We went to enjoy the nice weather today at the zoo. We had a lot of fun going to see the animals. The zoo here is like this immense animal habitat. We even saw kangaroos on the trail today. It is pretty cool. However, because it is so massive and the animals aren't all in cages, you don't see as many animals as you would otherwise. Oh well. Here are some of the highlights today.
The Endangered Species Carousel is always a big hit with Riley.
Up close and personal with the sheep.
Poor Tans. Always in the stroller. He wants to be mobile SO bad. I can see it in his eyes!
Lunch with the kangaroos. Keep in mind that there is no fence in between us and the animals!

Happy Birthday Tans
Well, it is a momentous day in the Register household. Tanner is officially 7-months old today...but wait, that's not all. This is also the first day of his little life that he has slept in a crib in his very own room. For the past 7-months, little Tans has slept on a baby mattress on the floor of our bedroom. We sure do love you Tanner, but it's time for you to move out. :)
