Ava Smiling

Riley can get Ava to smile like nobody else. He had her wrapped around his finger. We were all laughing!

Wow!

People keep saying who they think Ava looks like, but I have to tell ya, I don't see any Riley in her at all...in fact, we think she looks an awful lot like Tanner. My goodness but they look alike! She also looks very similar to my baby pictures and my sister Emily's baby pictures too. But seeing as how Tanner looks similar to me as a child, that would make sense. Anyway, this video is of Tanner at 2-months old. We'll have to take some video of Ava to post so you can really see how similar the two of them are.

Deanna Rose Farmstead

The weather was so beautiful today...for a change...so we woke up knowing that we had to get out and enjoy the day. We decided to go to the farm and had a great time! The boys just ran, and ran...and then ran some more. Needless to say, they have been bored stiff at our house and were more than ready to be active. And even more needless to say, I have been even more ready than Riley and Tanner to get them out. They are driving me nuts!!! Anyway, it was a good day had by all.

When I said that they did a lot of running, I wasn't kidding. That's practically all they did do was run around like crazy people.

Tanner enjoying watching the water in the lake...he has been known to take nose dives into the water, so this made me a little bit nervous.

Little Ava doing what she does best...sleeping. :)

What trip to the farm would be complete without romping around in the petting zoo? Tanner loves it...but Riley could definitely do without hanging out with the goats.

Riley rocked the tractor track. He was cruising non stop. When he finally gave up his tractor for another child to ride, he ran around the track time after time after time. It was great!

The fall in Kansas is really pretty. Lots of Maple trees turning all shades of beautiful colors.

A tradition at the farm is going to the dairy barn to get some delicious chocolate milk. Mmmmm!

The Sleeping Baby

This girl LOVES to sleep...except between the hours of 3am-5am. These pictures are of Ava sleeping with the absolutely perfect blanket that her Grandma Letha made for her. It is so sweet and we love it. If Ava is anything like her mother, then it is sure to become a treasured blankie for her!

We went to the doctor yesterday and Ava is in the 75th percentile for weight and height: 9 1/2 lbs and 21 1/2 inches. I didn't even ask what percentile her huge noggin was in! :)

Out to the Park

The boys finally got to go to the park. They've been pretty couped up since Ava was born so it was great to get out and let them play.

More Lovin'

We are going to be doing a "photo shoot" with Ava this weekend...so for those of you who have told me you want more pictures...you know who you are!...here are some to tide you over until we get some more pictures taken. :)

I know this isn't of Ava...but those eyes are to die for and I had to show off!!! :)

Brotherly Love

Riley and Tanner both absolutely adore their baby sister. They are always giving her loves. Riley is so tender and sweet...and gentle with her, while Tanner...well he IS sweet, but gentle...not so much. Today Nana asked Riley if he was going to protect his little sister and he immediately answered "yes". Then after a second he looked up and said, "Nana, what does protect mean?" It was pretty cute. All I can say is this is going to be one loved little girl.

Ava Susanna Register

Well she's finally here! It seemed like an eternity but we're excited to have her here. 8lbs 6oz. and 20 inches long on October 1st 2009.

We had to be at the hospital at 5:30am for the C-section and we didn't get a whole lot of sleep the night before but you can see that Sara is excited to be at the last stages.

Me in my stylin' scrubs.

Here's Ava getting her measurments taken. The only time she's cried has been when she's getting prodded. Other than that she's just eaten and slept a lot.

Sara seeing Ava for the first time. I watched the whole thing while holding Sara's hand. Yikes!

Sara was doing great after surgery for about an hour and then they gave some pain meds that made her totally nauseous. Luckily it was only a small dose so it only lasted about 4 hours. Much better than all day being sick with Riley and Tanner. We're making progress!

The nurses call her "The Little Oinker" because she is eating about twice as much as they are recommending. She really downs her bottles. We don't make dainty kids.

Thanks to everyone that's supported us through this long journey. We couldn't have done it on our own so thanks.
