Todd just replaced our ceiling fan in our living room...the old one was broken. Oh I could just kiss the ground he walks on. Our house gets way too stuffy without that fan on. Hooray! And it looks much better too. No more golden fans for us thank you very much. Once I can find my camera I'll post a before and after picture...for those of you who care. :)
I really don't care for beauty pageants one little bit...I think they are a bit on the ridiculous side. I don't know if you have noticed or not, but ALL over the news is this video:
This poor girl apparently was in the top two for the Miss USA pageant and lost because of her answer. Now, her answer was not given very well...not a very eloquent speaker in my mind, but that's not why she lost. She, and countless others, think she lost because of her specific opinion on same sex marriage. I wonder if she would have been adamantly FOR same sex marriage, would she have won instead of coming in second? I'm going to go out on a limb here and say probably yes.
Here is my beef...WHY oh WHY are liberals only "liberal" as long as you believe EXACTLY the way they believe? As soon as you veer from their specific path then all tolerance is gone. Interesting. Kind of an oxymoron if you ask me.
I saw an interview with Matt Lauer this morning where he interviewed the gay judge who asked that question. Here is that interview:
So, what I got out of this, is that Mr. Hilton really didn't want to hear what she thought at all. She was just suppose to be "PC" and leave her own thoughts to herself. And of course "PC" in this case is supporting gay marriage.
I applaud her for sticking up for what she believes in. The liberals stick up for what they believe in and aren't belittled for it, why can't the conservatives do the same thing?
We have lived with the crappiest sink and faucet for the past 2-years...seriously, it was probably worse than you can even imagine. For a long time we have known that our poor sink was on its very last leg. Tensions ran high, but we FINALLY fixed it...and of course by "we" I mean Todd. The only casualty of this little project was my poor toe...Todd dropped a pair of vice grips onto one of my bare toes while I was holding the sink down so Todd could screw in the faucet. Ouch! It looks so good though that I'll just grin and bear the uncomfortableness of it all. :) Now we just need to get our granite counter tops and back splash up, rip down part of our wall, add another cabinet, paint our current cabinets and we'll be good to go! Easy-Breezy.
Charlene and I had so much fun yard-saleing! We found this Batman bike for Riley that he cannot get enough of. It is so fun to watch him ride around on his "big-boy" bike.
We had our Easter egg hunt yesterday with Grandma Charlene (although somehow she managed to escape the camera's notice) and some friends, Kade and Stephanie and their kids. The kids had a really fun time finding the eggs...it was pretty cute. We also had a delicious BBQ if I do say so myself. Of course, my life is ruled by food right now, so the BBQ was my favorite part of the whole shin-dig! :) Mmmmm!
Here is the recipe for the grilled pork tenderloin that we made for our BBQ. Thanks for the recipe Holly...it is seriously delish!!!

4 pork tenderloins, 8-12 oz each season salt (Lawry's) course black pepper

Jenny came through Kansas this past weekend on her way to her new job in the East. We were all so excited to see her! In fact, Riley is still miffed that Aunt Jenny had to leave. She came with her long time friend Steph and the boys loved her too. They brought with them gifts of course, as any doting Auntie would. They have absolutely loved the spaghetti factory play dough set and their new Diego water bike. In fact, I can't get them to stop playing with these things. I think I have had enough play dough to last me a lifetime! :) Don't mind the beast next to the beauty...I was still feeling a bit off when Jenny came, although certainly better than I was the day before. Jenny is of course as gorgeous as ever. Tanner had fun showing Jenny the infamous train track that we had set up all throughout our living room. Jenny is fascinated...can't you tell? Riley had so much fun with Jen and Steph. They played with him for hours and then read him his bedtime stories. He loves his Aunt Jenny and told her so many times in her short visit.
Hi...did you miss us? I suppose I really should give some explanation for our extended absence. I am 13-weeks pregnant and have been unbelievably sick!!! For the past 9-weeks I have been unable to get out of bed...except for my visits to the hospital/ER (and I still, 2-weeks later, have the bruises on my arm from my second dreadful ER visit.) I have lost a total of 8-lbs, which doesn't sound like much, but believe me, it is. Thankfully, about 3-days ago I started feeling infinitely better. I guess 13-weeks is the charm. I hardly have any energy and get winded just getting dressed in the morning, but at least I CAN get dressed. :) I keep waking up in the morning expecting the miracle of feeling better to have gone away, but amazingly enough, I still feel pretty good. Hooray! I have to give a huge hats off to Todd for being absolutely amazing these past 2+ months. He has been daddy, mommy, diaper changer, chauffeur, chef, house-cleaner, full-time worker and has done a much better job than I could have if the roles were reversed. He definitely gets the daddy of the year award for his patience and kindness while I have been writhing in agony.
