Tanner's Preschool Graduation

Okay, so this title is just a bit misleading.  Tanner didn't go to preschool per say, but we did do home preschooling with 3 of his little friends.  Each week we would host preschool at a different house.  Tanner loved it!  My friend April wanted to do a preschool graduation party for the kids, so we did.  We had a little ceremony where the kids sang the ABC song, danced their favorite dance, got diplomas, and said what they liked most about school.  We took pictures and videos and then headed upstairs to make calzones for lunch.  After calzones, we had the most delicious home-made chocolate fudge over vanilla ice cream.  Mmmm..... It is supposed to be a family secret, but my friend Charlee says she gives it out to anyone who asks...just don't tell her mom!  ;) ;)

Aren't the little graduates darling!

Uh-Oh...I knew that cute smile wasn't just cause I said "smile for the camera."

Ahhh, there's the Tanner I know and love!

What graduation would be complete without the throwing of the hat?

Mithing Teeth

Riley came home from school the other day with his other front tooth missing. It was SUPER loose!
He took one bite of his snack and his tooth came right out. He said that his chip punched his tooth out. :) So my little guy
his now mithing hith two front teeth.

Two Funny Tannerisms

Yesterday the boys were fighting...oh wait, that is pretty much EVERY day!  But yesterday, Riley was mad that Tanner was playing with his Legos (which is funny because Riley was in the other room doing something else entirely that had nothing to do with Legos).  Tanner raises his arm in Jedi fashion and says, "Riley, I'm changing your mind".

Today the boys were fighting (are you shocked?) and Tanner, the little stinker, bit Riley on the back.  I put him in a time out on his bed.  When his time out was over, I went to go get my crying child and he said, "Mom, I promise never to eat Riley again."

Menu Monday

So, it's time I started writing my menus down again.  I actually do always write them down, but typically I write them in crayon on some sort of scratch paper that always gets lost.  So, it's back to Menu Mondays for me :)

Monday: Frozen Pizza
Tuesday: Chicken Enchiladas
Wednesday: Pancake Dinner
Thursday: Hamburgers and Sweet Potato Fries
Friday: Calzones
Saturday: Chicken and Rice
Sunday: Dutch Babies

Sprinkler Weather

Sprinklers, Swings and Soccer.  Hooray for Summer!

These legs make me ridiculously happy!

I am so glad that Todd was willing to put our $80 Craig's List playset together.  The kids
have loved it...and so have I!

What could be more fun than playing in the sprinklers with an umbrella?...Not much I'm sure.

Sumo-Ava?

Riley is a great big brother.  Ava adores him.

The Boys' First Campout

Our Ward had its father/son campout last night over in Clay County, Mo. This is the first time Todd has taken the boys camping. We bought a big tent and shared it with Tanner's best friend, Jude, and his dad. It was COLD, but everyone had a great time! Ava and I had a great time too here at home. Ava had a great time going to sleep at 7pm while I enjoyed a night with Mr. Darcy. Good times had by all :)

Riley had so much fun at the campout.  The fire was a bit much for Riley.  He couldn't quite get over the smoke and the heat!

Tanner's other best friend, Landon.  We call Tanner, Landon, and Jude the Three Musketeers.

Silly faces everyone!

Riley Loses Another Tooth

Riley lost his third tooth last night. His two front teeth have been lose for a while now, and last night I decided that I had had enough of Riley's "Snaggle Tooth". I pulled one out and Riley thought it was so cool, but the second I mentioned pulling the other one out, he put his hand over his mouth and told me, in no uncertain terms, "No!". Now let me tell you, now that the one tooth is gone, the other tooth is one teeny-tiny pull away from coming out. Oh well. I'll wear him down eventually and get that tooth out!

Ava's First Haircut

Ava was in absolutely desperate need of a haircut.  She could have been the poster child for Mullets R Us.  So, a haircut she got.  I cut about an inch off of her hair last night and it looks SOOO
adorable!  The last picture turned out kind of freaky, but I'm too lazy, I mean tired, to take another one :)

Bathroom Re-Do...Well, Almost Anyway

We are in the long, slow process of updating our bathroom.  We thought it would be pretty quick, but due to some unforeseen mishaps (like our vanity top taking 5-WEEKS to come in!), it has taken a little bit longer than we had originally planned.  It is still not quite finished, but I just cannot wait to show you what we've done so far, and show you some things to come.  It is all so exciting...at least, it's exciting to Todd and me :)

Here is a short video clip we took before we moved into our home 4-years ago.  If you blink, you'll miss the bathroom shot.  It is dark and quick, but it is all we've got.

Here we are, just starting.

I did most of the painting...well, at least all the painting that I could get without having to actually look up.

The slate floor in its infancy...

Doesn't it look awesome!!!!

Our soon-to-be backsplash, our new vanity top (that FINALLY came in!), and our new faucet.

I Spy With My Little Eye...

Today was so beautiful that we had a BBQ and ate dinner outside. Here is a conversation from dinner.

Riley: I spy with my little eye, lines...
Tanner: Ummmmm, those trees?
Riley: No. It's Daddy's forehead!
Tanner: Ooohhhooohhooo. Yeah!

Wow! You know you're old when you become part of the I Spy game.
