Vacation Misadventures

We had such a great time with Grandma and Grandpa...but what good vacation doesn't include some misadventures along the way? Here are some of ours:

Todd giving Charleney a good talking to about the RLDS church! (Apparently she needed it!)

Riley giving Grandma another good talking to...boy, she had it rough this trip out. Riley was actually "telling" Grandma that he was taking her blanket because she wasn't cold anymore...she was hot.

Boy, is Riley in for it once Tans starts walking! Riley loves to tell people what they like or, as in this case, what they don't like. And, as always, Tanner is completely unphased.

Yet ANOTHER Weekend Adventure...

Well, as some of you can see, there is no rest for the weary at the Register household. Charlene and Shelton whipped us into shape...literally. We have organized our house from top to bottom and it feels great. We wish we would have taken some before picture, but if you just look at the after pictures and then picture in your head the EXACT opposite, you'll have a pretty good idea.

Scaredy Cat

This video was taken right after Tanner bowled over Riley in the hallway. It was pretty funny. Tanner just pushed Riley over while Riley was on his bike and then proceeded to roll over him with his walker. Needless to say, Riley was not wanting to go through that again...hence his running away as you see in this video. Tanner may be sweet, but he knows what he wants and isn't scared to do what's necessary to get it. :)

Lemon Face

I think this video speaks for itself. All I can say is, we had a good laugh at the Cheesecake Factory!

Happy Easter

We had a lot of fun this Easter with Grandma and Grandpa!

The Easter Bunny came and hid the Easter Baskets in Riley's bedroom. Riley looked everywhere for his and Tanner's baskets...even up his daddy's shirt. That Easter Bunny can sure be tricky.

Tanner had a lot of fun taking his loot out of his basket, and then putting it right back in. Endless fun!

We must have sat in Riley's room for an hour just playing and chatting after the Easter baskets were found.

I bought their Easter stuff on Craig's List and consequently had way to much to fit into their tiny baskets. So, the Easter Bunny had to bring a separate basket filled with stuff for both boys to share.

Riley's Reward

As you know, we have been potty training Riley. It is slow going let me tell you, but he finally earned all 10 of his train stickers which meant that we got to go to Monkey Bizness. He was ecstatic! (Tanner was pretty happy too). Here are some highlights.

Another weekend project

This weekend we...meaning Todd...put in our kitchen floors. It took him a full 12-hours to lay it down, and it looks terrific. We still have a long way to go however. When you look at the last picture, just imagine white wainscoting that is about 5 1/2 feet tall, dark gray speckled granite counter tops, and possibly white cupboards. Actually, we would love to hear your opinion about our cupboards. We have two options: 1-stain the cupboards to match the floor, which would amount to an awful lot of wood and may make our smallish kitchen look even smaller. 2-paint the cupboards white, which may detract from the value of the house when, one day, we go to sell it. We just don't know what to do. We'll keep you posted.

Ahhhh...

Well, the temperature hit 75 degrees this week, so we headed off to the zoo. We were there for about 5 hours and had so much fun! However, as exciting as the elephants and gorillas were, THIS was the best part of the day for me. If only every car ride was this mellow.

TV Classics

Todd and I had such a fun night last night. We were sitting at the computer with Riley and decided to show him some of the things that we used to watch when we were little. So, we pulled up You Tube and looked up all our favorite childhood shows: GI Joe, He-Man, Thundercats, Vintage Sesame Street, Polka Dot Door, Punky Brewster, Today's Special, Transformers, Small Wonder, Rainbow Bright...the list could go on and on. It was so much fun to see the totally silly shows that we used to think were so cool. The 70's & 80's were great decades for children's shows. :)

Our Weekend Adventure

Today I took the kids to the Children's Museum while my oh-so-handy hubby installed our new dining room floor. Doesn't it look great! Now for the kitchen floor...somehow I think Todd is going to need a few weeks to recover from the ordeal of putting this floor in before he can think about putting in another floor. I'm hoping it gets done before Charlene and Shelton (Todd's parents) come out to visit. That gives us 1 1/2 weeks. (Yeah right?!?!) :)

Potty Time

Major update here: Riley has FINALLY decided that he is interested in the potty. He went peepee on the potty THREE times today. We were shocked and amazed. Let's hope it lasts. Wish us luck. :)

Jenny's Blog

For Anyone who is interested, my sister Jenny has a blog that she is going to be keeping while serving active duty for our country. She deployed on Wednesday and is now training in Washington State for the next 2-months before going overseas. We have the link in our family and friends list to the left of our blog.
